January 14, 2008 Current Events No CommentsMany of us have heard the story of Mark Malkoff’s week-long retreat at the Paramus, NJ Ikea store. We all think think that, while it will probably prove to be a clever documentary, it a kind of nutty idea. Scott, in particular, thought Ikea was a poor choice… too crowded. In fact, we live within an hour’s drive to three different Ikea store, and all of them seem to attract the total population of a small city at any give moment. So I asked Scott, where would you stay if we had to leave the house for a week? After the obvious choices, like Grammy’s house, I told him that like Ikea, it had to be a public place. This was quite a discussion. At first, theme parks and video game stores ruled, but after considering that, in staying for a whole week he’d need to eat, sleep, and occupy his time there, he came up with a most practical solution.
